Local Area Information
Local Area Description: The apartment is in Freshwater Bay Holiday Village which is situated at the rear of Freshwater East Beach with access to the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. The scenery along this path is spectacular, for example the Green Bridge of Wales is a famous natural arch in the cliffs at Stack Rocks. There are also many beautiful beaches including Barafundle Bay which was voted one of the top ten beaches in the world and the wilder beach of Freshwater West which was used for filming Harry Potter and Robin Hood in 2009 - a great beach for surfers. The dunes and woodland behind Freshwater East beach are a Local Nature Reserve. There are also National Trust woodlands nearby and the National Trust Bosherston Lily Ponds. Local Heritage Sites include Pembroke and Carew Castles, St Govan's Chapel and Lamphey Bishops Palace. The apartment is 4 miles from Pembroke and nine miles from the poplular seaside town of Tenby. There are several local attractions for the family such as Oakwood Theme Park, Dinosaur Park, Heatherton Activity Centre and Folly Farm. There are ocal pubs and restaurants including the LongHouse onsite bar/restaurant and shop. A well regarded area for outdoor activities such as surfing, climbing, sea kayaking, fishing, coasteering, kite surfing and golf. Come and enjoy.
