Canal and Tipi Experience is a small family run business based at Southcote Moorings, Burghfield Island, near Reading offering self drive canal boat holidays from a day to as many weeks as you want. Ideally place not only for canal trips towards Newbury, Hungerford, Devises, Bath and even Bristol, but with great access on to the River Thames towards Oxford, Winsor, Marlow and Henley.

We are very proud of our customer feedback: in 2009, 92% of responding customers giving us 5/5 for overall ?Canal Experience?. We are members of Tourism South East, the British Marine Federation and the Kennet and Avon Traders Association. All our boats are fully serviced and maintained and have the peace of mind of 24hrs a day Gold Membership support from River Canal Rescue. Simply put we have done our to best to ensure our high standard of care and support are continuously met.

All our boats have character. You won?t feel like you are on a hire boat, you will feel at home. They are all well equipped including all linen, bedding, cooking equipment, TV/DVD, heating, lifejackets, boat manuals and maps. Boat handling and lock navigation instruction is given and includes actually taking a boat up to and through the first lock on your trip. We are at the end of a phone from thereon in.
