Customer Rating/Reviews

The perfect holiday for ambling through the countryside, listening to the birdsong, identifying water fowl and generally soaking up the atmosphere. Quiet, relaxing, interesting and chance, fleeting meetings at lock gates with friendly boaters. Enjoyble working the locks, listening and watching the water as it churns round, dodging the swallows as they seek for insects near the lock gates. We had a fantastic short cruise (4 days) up the Macclesfield Canal. The introductory tour and cruising instructions (how to operate a lock) was very good, very informative. The whole experience, from check out to check in was effortless and stress-free. Everyone at the marina was fun, friendly and knowledgeable. And our four days on the narrowboat was the highlight of our stay in the U.K. Author: Mr W, OREGON, - Date Submitted: 06/2011
