Customer Rating/Reviews

We have hired a narrow boat two years running. We loved our holiday because of the peace and slow pace of life. It was impossible to rush anywhere on our boat. We had plenty of time to look around at nature and wildlife. The Wey is a lovely river - we could stop wherever we wanted and there was plenty to do, if we wanted. The combination of the explicit instructions of the staff at the boatyard, the instruction folder and the helpfulness of other boat users, meant we soon mastered the locks. We will certainly be looking to have another holiday next year. Author: Mrs W, Ashford, Middlesex - Date Submitted: 06/2011

We would reccomend this holiday to anyone it was so nice to get away fron the fast pace of everyday life, into complete serenity - absoloutly brilliant! Author: Mr H, Burgess Hill, West Sussex - Date Submitted: 09/2010

It was great to get away from everything and having the freedom to take our time to potter along, stopping on the way whenever we felt like it. Author: Ms C, Eastleigh, Hampshire - Date Submitted: 08/2010

The holiday is what you make it. The Boat is both the transport, accommodation and the entertainment so it's good value. There is something different to do every day and evening and you can't help but relax. I'd recommend it to any one. Author: Mr E, Brentwood, Essex - Date Submitted: 07/2010

We loved the whole experience, from virgin narrow boaters to now experienced canal boaters. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, from using the locks to advice sharing on pubs, moorings and life! Author: Mr M, Worthing, West Sussex - Date Submitted: 11/2009

Beutiful scenery, slow and relaxing but fun as well - the locks definitely added to the holiday as they made you think - and you felt you had achieved something by getting through them. Sitting by the side of a beautiful river bank by candlelight with a bottle of champagne listening to the birds and feeding the ducks - fab! Author: Mrs G, CULLOMPTON, - Date Submitted: 08/2009

Guildford Boatyard is a well run and caring company with well maintained and well equipped boats. Author: Mr F, HALESOWEN, - Date Submitted: 06/2009

Having travelled only 20miles from home to pick up the boat meant we already knew (on land) all the places we would be travelling through. However this gives you a completely different perspective and pace, and shows how much unspoilt wilderness exists so close to our normal urban existence. Author: Mr E, Rugby, Warwickshire - Date Submitted: 11/2008

Guildford Boat House gave us a warm welcome and it was lovely to just slow down and potter up and down the Wey, waving and smiling at walkers and other boaters. Author: Mrs G, St. Ives, Cornwall - Date Submitted: 08/2008

A great holiday , especially for dogs - they loved it. Remember to buy lifejackets for them! Author: Mrs N, Lancing, Sussex - Date Submitted: 10/2007

We were novices but were treated with courtesy, and this was the best start to a thoroughly enjoyable holiday! Author: Mr D, Lyme Regis, Dorset - Date Submitted: 04/2007
