Cottage Description
A luxury self-catering Norfolk holiday cottage with a unique sense of style. With its brilliant blend of the traditional and the modern in an idyllic location, The Old Chapel provides perfect self-catering accommodation in which to relax, and from which to explore the coastal Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that stretches from Brancaster through Holkham, Wells, Blakeney and Cley to Sheringham. We are also surrounded by National Trust properties such as Blickling and Felbrigg Halls, the Queen's residence at Sandringham, and Walsingham, England's most important centre of religious pilgrimage. The holiday cottage consists of a sensitively restored 19th century brick and flint Primitive Methodist chapel. The original character of the building has been preserved, with the vaulted main body retained as a dramatic open-plan living area reaching to the heavily-beamed roof; this is overlooked by a mezzanine bedroom accessed by a cast iron spiral staircase. Sleeping accommodation is provided by a king size bed in the mezzanine, supplemented by a double sofa-bed in the main living area. In winter the cottage is particularly cosy with a wood burning stove in the corner inglenook fireplace and a very efficient oil-fired modern central heating system, making it an ideal year-round self-catering holiday cottage.
