Hotel Description
Gwytherin is a small hamlet of 22 houses four times voted Best Kept village it is steeped in history and folklore that extends beyond the Romans. An indication is given by the 2000 year old Yews neighboring the beautiful Church which contains the burial sites of four Christian Saints as well as the original grave of St Winifred whose removal forms the basis of the first Cadfael novel. All the Lion bedrooms are finished in a striking fashion modern and unashamedly Welsh for this is an area where families have lived and worked for countless generationswith Welsh as a first language and old forgotten values are the order of the day many guests imersing themselves in the Locals bar and chatting easily to new friends. Few things in life are more important than fine food an at the Lion you will feel the passion Fiona brings to her cooking all food is cooked from fresh and all our produce is locally sourcemuch of it coming from farms that can be seen from the Inn.
