It was in 1789 that Eastbourne entertained it's first visitors. George III sent the royal children to "Sea Houses" for their summer holidays. The idea that the air and sea water was "good for ones health" took hold and the yearly summer holiday idea began.The guest rooms are all named after Albert and Victoria's children.Alice,Beatrice and Louise.
