The hotel has flamboyant classical architecture and dates from the days of Great Western Railway. Please note that from October to February the Great Western is undergoing major refurbishment. However, the Trenarrian wing is open for bookings, but please be aware that only continental breakfast will be available to have in your room (at extra cost), and none of the hotels facilities are in use during the refurbishment.Please also note that the Great Western is situated next to a night club.

Approaching Newquay on the A30. Approximately 4 miles after leaving the dual carriageway at the end of the Bodmin by-pass you will go under an iron railway bridge and carry on for another 3 miles to the next left-hand junction sign-posted Newquay A392. Directions Follow the signs for Newquay and continue for approximately 5 miles to Quintrell Downs. At the roundabout take the right-hand exit into Quintrell Road (A3058) over the level crossing (sign-posted Newquay Porth and Henver Road). Carry along this road for approximately 3 miles. You go straight over two mini roundabouts. After the second one continue for 400yds. The Great Western Hotel is on the right. There is a main bus and train station in the centre of Newquay, and it also has its own Airport.
