Conveniently situated in the Clyde Valley, please find below routes to Shieldhill Castle. From Edinburgh (28 miles)Take A702 (Carlisle) to 1 mile beyond Dolphinton, turn Right (A721 Glasgow). Just beyond Elsrickle, turn Left (Biggar). After 200 yards, turn Right, (no sign) to end of road, Turn Left and Right (Shieldhill Road) after 1.5 miles, Shieldhill Castle is on the Right. From Glasgow (30 miles)Take M8 (Edinburgh) to Junction 6 (A73, Lanark). In Carluke turn Left (A721 Peebles). In Carnwath (at traffic lights), turn Right (Biggar). After 4 miles, turn Right (Quothquan). Continue to end of road, turn Left (Shieldhill Road). Shieldhill Castle is 1.5 miles on the Left. From the South (London 402 miles) From London M25, M1, M6, M74 Junction 13, take A702, signed Edinburgh. In Biggar, turn left on to B7016, signed Carnwath.
