FROM THE SOUTH Leave motorway at j36. Follow a590 and a591 towards Kendal. Do not take Kendal South turning.Continue on the Kendal by-pass dual carriageway to the large roundabout. Take third exit signed Kendal. Through first traffic lights and turn left at second traffic lights onto Sandes Avenue. Stay in the left hand lane. Straight on at lights. Follow the signs for the a685 Brough. Follow road round left hand curve at mini roundabout. Under the railway bridge, then fork right in front of the duke of cumberland pub, on to appleby ROAD.Take second right by J.A.G. second-hand car lot on to fowl-ing lane. At the end of the road is Garden House Hotel. FROM THE NORTH Turn off the M6 at Junction 38 just after the Tebay Services. Follow the signs into Kendal. As you enter the Kendal built up area you will pass The Queen Katherine School on your right. After about 300 yards you will see a second hand car lot on the left called JAG. Turn left onto the road next to JAG. This is Fowl Ing Lane. The driveway up to The Garden House Hotel is at the end of the road.
