Grasmere House Hotel is a fine Victorian house surrounded by mature gardens, situated on the banks of the Rivers Avon and Nadder only a few minutes walk from the centre of Salisbury. This beautiful building has been carefully converted and extended into a private hotel whilst retaining all the features and atmosphere of a comfortable Victorian home. A favourite venue for those wishing to spend time taking in the delights of Salisbury and surrounding Wiltshire countryside. The picturesque location and gardens of the Grasmere House Hotel make it an ideal place for a peaceful and relaxing stay for holidaymakers and business travellers alike. All bedrooms in the Grasmere House Hotel have en-suite facilities and all the modern comforts you would expect. Four bedrooms are fitted with luxurious 4-poster beds, all are equally well furnished, some with extra pull-out beds to provide triple and quadruple family accommodation. Five rooms are discreetly arranged for disabled guests and graded by the ETB. A 3-bedroom family sized apartment with separate lounge and two bathrooms is also available. The Conservatory Restaurant also known as The Bistro on the River boasts spectacular views over Grasmeres gardens down to the rivers Nadder & Avon, across the water meadows to Salisbury Cathedral. The restaurant offers traditional English food with modern eclectic influences from around the globe with a stamp of individuality from the Head Chef. Local produce is used whenever possible and the menu is ever changing according to the seasons. Daily and Market Day specials feature along with themed evenings that are popular with hotel residents and regular guests. A variety of imaginative vegetarian dishes are always available. The restaurant are happy to cater for those with special dietary requirements.The cocktail bar is adjacent to the restaurant and drinks are also served in the Hotels lounge. Guests can enjoy a Wiltshire Afternoon Tea in the lounge or just take a few moments to relax after a busy day. The Sarisberie room, situated next to the restaurant opens to a large patio area which is ideal for enjoying drinks on a summers evening.There is never a shortage of things to do in Salisbury or the wider area of Wiltshire where some of the countrys most important heritage sites can be found like Old Sarum and the ancient stone circles of Stonehenge and Avebury. Salisbury has a racecourse with regular meetings and there is a wealth of excellent shops, museums and restaurants around the town. Salisbury Cathedral with its majestic spire can be seen from Grasmere House and is just a short walk away. By rail, Salisbury is on the WaterlooExeter main line; travelling time from Waterloo is approximately 1.5 hours. The Grasmere Hotel is situated about 2 miles from the station.By road arriving from London via the M3, exit onto the A303. You can exit the A303 onto the A343A30 sign posted SalisburyMiddle Wallop. Alternatively, you can continue on the A303 and take the A345 sign posted AmesburySalisbury. By road arriving from London via the M4, exit onto the A34 toward NewburyAndoverSouthampton. Leave the A34 onto the A303 towards Andover and follow directions as above.When you arrive in Salisbury, follow directions for Southampton (A36) and then towards Blandford (A354). Filter left at the junction after Southampton Road, then move into the right hand lane in preparation to turn right at the traffic lights onto what is now named New Harnham Road. Carry on past the church on the right the hotel entrance is approximately 40 yards on the right.
