About Bedfordshire

Bedfordshire is situated just north of London and borders Cambridgeshire to the north east, Buckinghamshire to the west, Northamptonshire to the north and Hertfordshire to the south east. The county has a number of attractions such as Bedford Castle, Chiltern Hills and Woburn Safari Park. Luton Town Football Club is located within the boundaries of Bedfordshire. It maintains easy access to London itself plus it is only a couple of hours from the East coast of England. There are many forms of transport linking London to the Midlands which pass through Bedfordshire so it has convenient access to a number of areas across England. The A1 road that goes from London to Edinburgh passes through the county as does the A5 London to Holyhead road. The late Ronnie Barker and former England cricket captain Alastair Cook are just a couple of the famous names associated with Bedfordshire and it is widely seen as a very respectable county with some lovely scenery and fantastic places to visit.

Houghton House - Ampthill, Bedfordshire Remains of a 17th century house with breathtaking views and allegedly the inspiration for the "House Beautiful" in Pilgrims Progress.
