About Cheshire

Cheshire is located in the north west of England and borders Wales. Cheshire is largely a rural area with its main industry being agriculture. There are a number of large towns such as Warrington, Crewe, Widnes and Macclesfield plus the county town of Chester but the main bulk of land is countryside.

The county is within easy reach of the cities of Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham whilst also near to the west coast. Chester itself is a fantastic place to visit with its historic buildings and the Roman walls that engulf the city.

Transport is widely available around the Cheshire region. Crewe, Warrington and Chester train stations offer services to all parts of England at regular intervals. As for tourist attractions, the area has a lot to show off. Chester Zoo is a great place to take the family with a lot of different species of animal on show. Tatton Park at Knutsford is also a wonderful heritage park. The Blue Planet Aquarium at Ellesmere Port has a lot for the kids with an underwater safari park its main activity.

1. Tatton Park - Knutsford, Cheshire, WA16 6QN

Tatton Park is a magnificent heritage estate overlooking fifty acres of beautiful gardens. The house is filled with the Egerton Family's collections of fine furnishings, artwork and silverware. Includes a children's play area and a 1000 acre Deer Park.

2. Chester Zoo - Upton by Chester, Chester, Cheshire , CH2 1EU

A excellent Zoo dedicated to the conservation of wildlife, over a hundred acres of wonderful parkland. A great day out for all the family, with over seven thousand animals including elephants, tigers, orangutans and rhino's to see.

3. Blue Planet Aquarium - Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, CH65 9LF

A magical day out for all ages with over four hundred species of marine life and over twenty different species of shark. A 70 meter aquatunnel transports you through an underwater safari. Kids will love the pirate playground and you can experience a dive with the sharks.
