About Cornwall

Bedruthan Steps, Cornwall

Cornwall, also known locally as Kernow, is a county with proud heritage. Many Cornish residents believe Cornwall deserves its independence from England but to date it remains a part of the country. Even so, Cornwall still maintains its own language that descends from its Celtic past.

It is situated on the south west coast of England and has a vast selection of breath-taking seaside towns and glorious golden beaches. Bude and Newquay are very popular destinations with tourists from across the world for their surf conditions. The county is surrounded on three sides by sea so there is ample choice for enjoying a coastal holiday.

Cornwall has a sublime reputation for cuisine with Cornish pasties, Cornish ice cream and Cornish fudge all highly rated across the globe. The county is also famous for its areas of natural beauty. Bodmin Moor has been the subject of many literary works for its haunting magnificence whilst Land's End is the most southern point of Britain.

The Eden Project is a must see venue with its plant life and Biomes. The Tate Gallery at St Ives is also a priceless experience. There are the nearby towns of Exeter and Plymouth whilst Truro is on hand for a taste of the urban lifestyle.
