About Rutland

Rutland

As the smallest county in England, Rutland isn't the most well known area of land. It is located in the middle of England and is land locked by Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire.

Only a couple of villages and market towns grace the county which is predominantly a countryside area blessed with lakes and plant life. Rutland Water is one of the largest man made lakes in the world and takes up a large proportion of the centre of Rutland. It is ideal for walkers and cyclists as a path has been constructed around the reservoir to allow tourists to enjoy the sights of the water.

Barnsdale Gardens, Rutland County Museum and Normanton Hall offer alternative forms of entertainment and exploration if the natural beauty aspect of Rutland doesn't quite tickle the fancy.

The region is pretty centralized within England so it is relatively easy to get to no matter where you travel from in the country. On the flip side, it is also fairly simple to get to anywhere within the country.
