Denbighshire is situated in the north east of Wales. It is renowned for being the longest inhabited area in Wales. The largest towns in the county include Rhyl, Ruthin and Prestatyn.
Some of Denbighshire's most famous tourist attractions include the Llangollen Fringe Festival and Prestatyn Carnival. You can take a horse drawn boat trip or a motor powered aqueduct cruise from Llangollen Wharf. Denbigh Castle is mounted upon a hill that overlooks the town below. It was constructed during the invasion of King Edward I and is famed for being home of the ‘Grey Lady'.
There is the Welsh Mountain Zoo nearby which has some of most endangered species of animals around the world and Rhuddlan Castle, also built during the reign of King Edward I, is a great place to visit and absorb some of the history of Wales.
The area is rich in heritage with a wealth of other historic castles to visit including Dinas Bran, which means the Crow Castle, and Bodelwyddan Castle. Dyserth Waterfall is also a fine place to relax and unwind whilst surrounded by picturesque scenery.
However, if you are more of an active fun seeker then there are white water rafting and canoeing facilities in Llangollen.
