Apartment Description
There are 2 bathrooms (one en-suite) both with whirlpool bath and shower over. The main bathroom also has Grohe double headed shower. As well as a fully equipped kitchen the Penthouse boasts a separate wet bar area for preparing the evenings drinks. The bedrooms are on the upper floor accessed by a stunning curved staircase. The master bedroom suite has a travertine tiled en-suite bathroom with his and hers washbasins. The main bed has a memory foam mattress and the bedroom also has a sofa bed which can sleep an extra 2 people. Bedroom 2 has a triple bunk bed. The living room has modern furnishings and boasts stunning views through four arched windowa. It has a 42 Phillips ambilight television and a Playstation for watching dvds and playing games. The living room also has a sofa bed in a curtained off area which can sleep an extra 2 people. The sofa beds will be provided with full sets of bedding when more than six people are booked. Unfortunately the Penthouse is unsuitable for disabled guests since it is on the third floor of a building with no lift. Unfortunately we do not accept credit or debit cards. Bookings made with in five days of arrival - cash just please. Weekend bookings will also be subject to a hundred security deposit which will be refunded in full (subject tom the apartment being left in a satisfactory condition) after the stay. The building the apartment is in has Italianate styling and was built in 1860 to house the offices of Newcastles wealthiest merchants (one Otto Frederick Ernest Bernicke a Californian corn merchant is believed to be the first occupant). Quayside Penthouse is a large apartment of 1700 square feet. We are happy to accept groups up to eight but will point out that with just 2 bathrooms there may be some queuing for ablutions and also bedroom 2 will be quite cozy !Unfortunately we are unable to arrange early check in or storage off luggage. The earliest check in is 3pm. Apartment will appeal to guests looking for City Breaks, Luxury Breaks, Theatre Breaks, Romantic Breaks, Weekend Breaks.

Arriving from the A1 take A189A184 exit for Gateshead (Centre). Move into right hand lane signposted A189 Newcastle. Cross the Redheugh Bridge taking first left then left at mini roundabout then sharp left again signed B1600 for Quayside. Continue on B1600 passing through traffic lights then sharp right and down towards river. Pass under High Level bridge giving way to traffic from right. After 200 yards you will see a pub called the Red House on your left (it is in fact painted red). |
