Apartment Description

The Trossachs deliver a wonderful brilliance that never fails to amaze the visitor. There are historical associations with Mary Queen of Scots, Rob Roy and Sir Walter Scott along with others but these days guests come to trek in the eye-catching hills, fish in the lochs and streams or purely just to relax. Edinburgh and Glasgow are just over an hour's drive away, the Forest Hills Lochside Resort is the perfect option for a family getaway, a first visit to Scotland or even a long-weekend away from it all. Its position at the base of forested south-facing hills gazing over Loch Ard provides brilliant vistas. The apartments and hotel sit in 25 acres of parkland with winding paths, rocky waterfalls and rural bridges. A wide choice of outdoor activities is available for guests as well as a tennis court, angling and cycle hire. There is an activity programme for all ages as well as supervised pursuits for 5-11 year olds in the kidz club. Events on offer also include wine and whisky tasting sessions, which always pull in a crowd, and a popular Scottish night to get you into the spirit of your holiday. The swimming pool / leisure centre is currently in the process of being upgraded and the new facility should be available in time for next year. In the meantime, guests may use the swimming pool facilities at Callander Leisure Centre which is just a 25 minute drive way. Arrangements can be made for clay pigeon shooting, golf and pony trekking if you fancy giving them a go. Lessons and equipment can be supplied if you are keen. The Rafters Bar and Restaurant within the leisure centre provides snacks all day, bar lunches and an evening grill menu so there is something always there for you to try. The Forest Hills Hotel plays host to a superb restaurant for that special night out with the partner or your family (baby sitting can be arranged if necessary). For your stay, accommodation is provided in the garden apartments - all are furnished to the best standard possible and offer every comfort. The living area has soft leather sofas, television and DVD player whilst it also gives access to the balcony with outdoor garden furniture. There is a brilliant oak fitted kitchen off the living room with split level oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge and a dishwasher. There really is everything you could wish for, even picnic equipment! All bed linen and towels are supplied. Cots and high chairs are available by prior arrangement. The two bedroom lodge apartment sleeps up to six people and has two bedrooms (twin or double as preferred), one with en suite shower room, pull-down double wall bed (or sofa bed) in the lounge, a kitchen, and a bathroom.
