Wheal Tor is a freehold licensed premises and is the highest inn in Cornwall nestling 1000ft high atop Caradon Hill a truly spectacular position with some of the best views in Cornwall. Set in a secluded pine copse and 212 acres of gardens on the edge of Bodmin Moor the premises was once home to Captain Seccombe who managed the prosperous East Caradon copper mine and indeed the original window from which the miners where paid is still in existence.

After the mining boom Wheal Tor became East Caradon Farm then later a care home until its eventual guise as a pub and hotel in the early 1970s. Approached by a hard core track that meanders over the moor the property now trades as a licensed bar and restaurant with 7 nicely furnished en-suite letting rooms.
