Bed and Breakfast - Charcott Farmhouse B&B

B&B Description

Charcott Farmhouse B&B

Tucked away in the depths of the Weald of Kent, this pretty old farmhouse is an ideal place to spend some time exploring the many attractions Kent has to offer. Hosts, Ginny and Nick Morris believe in a relaxed and informal approach so guests receive a warm welcome and a real feel of life as it is lived in the English countryside. Breakfasts, eaten communally round the large oak dining room table but with individual timings to suit, are large and varied ranging from a full-blooded English fry-up to a simple continental and guests are offered a choice before they retire in the evening. Eggs, cooked on the kitchen Aga are fresh from the family flock of free-range chickens and are served with locally produced bacon and lashings of home-made bread and marmalade to go with them. Other ingredients are home or locally produced and organic as far as possible. Nick is an enthusiastic chef and his caramalised pears with yoghurt, breakfast blinis and rhubarb granola are not to be missed! The 3 twin bedrooms, 2 en-suite and 1 with a private bathroom next door, are traditionally furnished with fresh country style fabrics. All are centrally heated, fully carpeted with tiled bathrooms, have tea and coffee-making facilities and guests have the use of a small beamed sitting room (the old bakehouse, still with it's original domed brick oven)with colour TV where they can relax and unwind in the evenings. Alternatively on warm summer evenings they may prefer to sit outside in the garden where they will almost certainly be joined by one or two of our 4 resident cats and Fen, our very quiet and friendly 4 year old black labrador. For evening meals, the Greyhound pub, is a five minute amble down the drive and The Castle Inn at Chiddingstone or the Little Brown Jug in Chiddingstone Causeway are excellent alternatives. Please note we operate a strict no-smoking policy and are unable to accept cards of any kind so payment by cash or cheque only.
