Set in the Staffordshire Moorlands Hermitage Working Farm stands high overlooking the pretty wooded Churnet Valley affectionately known as Staffordshires Little Switzerland with its canal wharf meandering river and nostalgic steam railway. This 92-acre hill livestock farm was once part of the Thomas Bolton Estate and has been in the Barlow family for almost 30 years.

In 1985 Wilma Barlow commenced a bed and breakfast service which has developed with the help of her family into a thriving concern. Looking after guests is an increasingly important part of the Barlows working life today. Hermitage Working Farm is the ideal base for any kind of holiday whether it be fun filled or merely peaceful and restful.

From here you can spend time at Alton Towers being only ten minutes away alternatively Stoke-on-Trent hosts many renowned Staffordshire Potteries with their museums and factory shops and are all a meagre twelve miles away. Waterworld also in Stoke-on-Trent is the UKs largest indoor aqua park perfect for that wet day!! (so dont forget to bring your swim wear).

For a quieter break the Peak National Park is also on our doorstep offering many walking and cycling trails along with numerous other stunning and historic places to discover. We also edge on to the Staffordshire Way so for walkers we are an perfect position. The market towns of Leek Cheadle Uttoxeter Ashbourne and Buxton are all with in a 30-minute drive.
