Customer Rating/Reviews

Easter 2010 and winter was still in evidence as the four of us drove towards the boatyard ready for our mini-break on the water, feeling slightly aprehensive about whether the heating on the boat would be warm enough. We needn't have worried, a warm welcome awaited us from the staff and the boat was already nice and toasty ready for us. A quick visit to the stores to get kitted out with life jackets, and we wheeled our mountain of gear down to the boat on the trolley and settled in. Soon after we set off for the first loch just round the corner in the hands of one of the staff who gave us a thorough demo to get started with the boat and procedures for handling it, the loos, kitchen etc. Soon after we set off on our own along the canal northwards to Fort Augustus. The boat was perfect for us, a family of four, with two bedrooms and bathrooms and the option of sleeping in the lounge bit for variety. If you like gadgets you'll love life on a boat where every bit of space is used in some clever way to fit in all the features you need. Loads of storage space, a pull out fold out table, radio with cd player and a view that's changing constantly. You can drive the boat up top and enjoy the fresh air, or dip inside when the weather's bad and enjoy a cup of tea till the next loch. In 3 nights we went up to Fort Augustus and on into Loch Ness for an hour or so before turning round and heading back to where we started. Fort Augustus was definitely the highlight with 5 lochs in a row negotiated under the gaze of numerous onlookers who'd stopped by on their way through. The scenery is fantastic, we had snowy peaks in the distance whilst cruising along on deep dark lochs under bright blue skies. The next day the cloud came in and the same scenery took on a whole new look as we pounded through the waves in the brewing storm. Just brilliant. Do it, you'll love it!
