I have been on Boating Holidays before and whilst good, it has been like caravanning on the water. Swancraft added that little bit of luxury which made the experience feel more like a floating Hotel! I have been hiring boats on the Norfolk Broads regularly for the past 40 years and have hired a vast amount of different boats, but the boat from Swancraft I would say is the very best ever! It had the wow factor as soon as we boarded the boat. There were a lot of complimentary items, even two new wrapped dressing gowns and slippers on the bed! My wife and I are very particular with the layout and will not consider a boat that does not have a walk around bed as climbing over one another to get out of bed in the middle of the night is a major nuisance - the layout of this boat was perfect. A spacious and comfortable interior with plenty of drawers and hanging space, and nice warm heating (including the bathroom) for those sometimes chilly nights as we holiday early or late season. The whirlpool bath was great, much more relaxing than standing in a shower getting stuck to the curtains. This is the first boat I have hired that has gauges for water level, fuel level, domestic and engine batteries state of charge. Past experience with domestic batteries on boats have been disappointing as they are often incapable of providing power for equipment such as televisions and DVD players for very long. Although we are frugal with electrical use we have often suffered fridge failure due to insufficient charge in the battery, but the batteries on this boat must be of a superior quality as we had no power issues whatsoever. The Swancraft Boat yard is clean and modern with excellent moorings which look brand new. The staff were friendly and helpful and all were wearing smart clothing with Swancraft logo making it easy to identify a member of staff and giving the boatyard a professional look. You will probably notice that I haven't mentioned the name of the boat; this is because I want this particular boat to be available for me next time I book!
