Customer Rating/Reviews

I would recommend to friends and family, though basic, the boat was extremely clean which to us was most important. The waterway was fantastic, very scenic with the aqueducts. Author: Mr W, Forest Gate, London - Date Submitted: 05/2011

It's a great and relaxing way to see the countryside. Author: Mr W, Neston, South Wirral - Date Submitted: 03/2011

The canal we travelled on was beautiful and so peaceful. It was lovely :) Author: Mr H, Havant, Hampshire - Date Submitted: 10/2010

The Llangollen canal is a lovely relaxing and easy waterway to navigate. It is possible to spend an entire week eastwards towards Whitchurch and including the peacefull Prees branch without encountering a lock, or by negotiating just two locks access is gained to spectacular features including tunnels and aqueducts. For the more ambitious you can experinece a small staircase of locks at Frankton junction. Ellesmere is a pleasent town and you can stock up at Tescos which is located at the canal basin. An excellent place to moor is at Blakes mere where you can overlook the mere from your boat and picnic on the bank side. The boatyard near Whittington is conveniently located and Welsh Lady Cruisers have good selection of craft of various sizes. The car can be parked immediately adjacent to the boat for loading and unloading and the long term car park is close to the quay.Facilities were adequate at the yard and last minute supplies can be purchased at the shop. Handover was very relaxed and straightforward. We had a delightful holiday, admittedly enhanced by a week if warm sunny weather.
