Cottage Description
Located on the Moray Firth and facing MacDuff across the River Deveron estuary, Banff is the location of Elisabeth Cottage, a most pleasant cottage occupying a nice position in a residential area. Suitable for five people by way of the three bedrooms, the cottage is just a few minutes walk from the harbour, and well placed to discover and explore the delightful countryside. Banff has a rich history and in view of its position, it is probably no surprise that its first castle was built to repel the marauding Vikings. It has always traded well despite not having a proper harbour until 1775. There is a golf course, a modern marina serving fishing and leisure craft and Duff House, a National Trust property. The three bedrooms are offered as a double, a twin and a single, and with full gas fired central heating, you can consider staying here whatever the time of year. Amenities/Accommodation Overview There are three bedrooms, a double, a twin and a single, while the bathroom has a WC, basin and bath with shower over. Comfortable sitting room with TV, DVD, CD player/cassette/radio etc, small collection of books, games and DVDs. Spacious kitchen having dining area, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, electric oven and gas hob. Towels, bed linen, power and fuel, high chair and cot availability, two car roadside parking. Garden furniture for use in small gravelled rear garden, regret no pets and no smoking. Five minutes to pub and shop. Local Town Description Set on a lovely sandy beach, Banff has much in the way of interesting architecture. As previously mentioned, Duff House is one such place that you will want to visit, with artefacts and paintings from the National Galleries of Scotland. Nearby Pennan has a history as a smugglers village, and more recently was the setting for the movie "Local Hero". There is much of interest locally with golfing, climbing, fishing, sailing, surfing and dolphin watching. Enjoy both the Whisky and Castle Trails, take in great scenery and surroundings, and take time to sit and watch beautiful sunsets.

Customer Rating/Reviews
Everything was as we had hoped. The owner could not have been more pleasant and helpful. We felt safe in the location and the price was right! This is the sort of accommodation I would book, year after year. Thank you.

The cottage has everything you could want. It was clean, well maintained and in an ideal location for touring Banff and the surrounding area. We intend to visit again.

Second time at this cottage, was excellent and very homely. Very close to the sea front and local amenities. Beautiful coastal scenery.
