South Lodge is a delightful B-Listed cottage located at the main gates of the Torrisdale Castle Estate. A small golden beach is situated close by and a secluded garden lies adjacent to the cottage, next to the burn that leads to the sea. The cottage provides year round accommodation and is the perfect romantic retreat, whatever the weather. The accommodation of South Lodge comprises a double bedroom, sitting room/dining room with adjacent kitchen and a large bathroom with electric shower over the bath.

Laundry facilities are available at the castle and the cottage has an open fire in the living room. Electricity is charged via a one coin meter and heating, by electric storage heaters, is charged by meter reading.The Kintyre Way passes through the estate, which is an perfect base for those looking to complete the long distance walk in individual stretches, being almost halfway on the 87 mile route.Of special interest at Torrisdale is the organic tannery, specialising in natural coloured sheepskins and deer skins using an ancient tanning method to produce a superior skin.Torrisdale Estate is an perfect position to unwind and absorb the glorious scenery, nature and wildlife of the Kintyre peninsula.

You can discover the castle grounds with its many trails (keeping an eye out for deer and golden eagles); climb the close by hills, as well as Beinn an Tuirc, Kintyres highest peak, to take pleasure in some stunning views; and visit the estates golden beach, Torrisdale Bay, to take pleasure in the views of Arran, seabirds and the seals basking on the rocks.The beautiful angling village of Carradale is situated approximately two miles to the north of Torrisdale where there are a variety of restaurants, bars and hotels to take pleasure in a meal, snack or typical Scottish hospitality.
