Cottage Description

This impressive detached cottage sits within its own grounds in the small town of Ayton, just three miles from the vibrant fishing port of Eyemouth. The stunning Ayton Castle sits opposite the property, which has a shop and a pub within walking distance in this wonderful rural location.

Ayton Mill Cottage has one king-size double bedroom, one twin bedroom, which can become a double if required and there is a sofa bed in the study, offering extra sleeping accommodation. There is also a shower room and a ground floor bathroom. The sitting room has an open fire, dining area and there is an excellent fitted kitchen.

This property enjoys full gas central heating with additional heat from the open fire in the sitting room. In the kitchen, there is an electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The property also has a colour TV, DVD player, CD/radio and a library of books and games. Fuel, power and a starter pack of wood for the open fire is included in the rental price. Bed linen and towels are provided. A cot and highchair can be made available on request.

Outside there is off road parking for two vehicles and an enclosed garden with a lawn and outside furniture. Two well-behaved pets are welcome. No smoking is allowed. There is a shop within walking distance of the property and a pub just over one mile away.

Local Town Description

The nearby fishing port of Eyemouth sits just over the Scottish border and is eight miles from the historic walled town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. Eyemouth retains an ancient fish market and narrow cobbled streets, adding to the delight of this attractive coastal town. There is a stunning cliff-top golf course and a number of other courses in the area, which is also popular for walking, cycling and bird watching. The cities of Edinburgh and Newcastle upon Tyne are both reached within an hour journey.
