Meadow Lodge Coastal Cottage

Cottage Description

Meadow Lodge Coastal Cottage

Seventeenth century Press Castle Estate is the setting for this and three other similar timber lodge style holiday properties just three miles west of Coldingham. The accommodation is entirely on the ground floor and the attractive, well proportioned room layout is a delight to occupy.

Historic Coldingham offers evidence of occupation as far back as AD 660 with a religious establishment, and today offers Coldingham Bay, a lovely secluded beach that has proved popular with families and surfers alike. St. Abbs, three miles away has a nature reserve.

A feature cathedral style roof gives a great feeling of space, and a wood burning stove and electric heaters allow occupation all year round. The sea views are a particular feature.

Amenities/Accommodation Overview

The two bedrooms are arranged as a king sized double and a twin, while the bathroom has a bath with a shower over, WC and basin.

There is an eye catching L-shaped lounge and dining space with wood burner, sliding door to exterior, TV, DVD player, radio/CD player, etc, small collection of books.

Attractive kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge, microwave, gas hob and electric fan assisted oven. Electric convector heaters throughout.

Inclusive of bed linen, towels, electricity and starter fuel pack for stove, two car off road parking, barbecue and outdoor furniture for use in large lawned garden.

Regret no smoking and no pets, three miles to pub, restaurants and shops. Please note that due to the presence of the wood burner, this property only accepts children of eight years and older.

Local Town Description

The property is found in splendid countryside between Coldingham and Coldingham Bay, giving the best of the seaside and the country. There are other super beaches at Eyemouth and Berwick. The nature reserve at nearby St. Abbs has a large variety of birds and marine life. Scuba divers come from far and wide to explore these waters.

Eleven miles away is Berwick on Tweed, nestling on the English/Scottish border, proving just how convenient it is to undertake a bit of cross border touring. Indeed Edinburgh, the wonderful capital city of Scotland is just under fifty miles away, and offers everything that you would expect of a sophisticated European capital.

Dunbar, Craister and Seahouses are other local villages, and the turbulent border times gone by have left much in the way of castles to explore.
