Cottage Description

This delightful semi detached cottage is full of character and original features, making it a lovely Cornish retreat. Located in the village of Stourscombe close to the Cornwall/Devon border, this property can accommodate up to four people.

Amblelight has one double bedroom, one single bedroom and bathroom on the first floor. There is also an additional single bedroom on the ground floor. The cottage has a fitted kitchen, sitting room, separate dining area and peaceful library room.

Amenities/Accommodation Overview

This property has full gas central heating. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a washing machine. Amblelight also features a colour TV, DVD player and a library of books, games and DVDs. All of the fuel and power is included in the price and guests are supplied with bed linen and towels. A travel cot, highchair and stair-gate are available on request.

Outside the property, there is off road parking for one car. Private hire transport can be arranged directly with the owner if required. There is a small, enclosed garden at the front and a rear garden with outdoor furniture and with a BBQ available on request. Guests are welcome to bring one well-behaved pet. No smoking is allowed. The property sits just one mile away from the nearest shops and pub.

Local Town Description

The small village of Stourscombe is situated close to the town of Launceston on the Devon and Cornwall border. The town is home to the ruins of a Norman castle and has superb Georgian architecture to enjoy. A steam train ride can be caught from Launceston to the Kensey Valley on a five mile round trip and there are stunning sights to see in the Tamar Valley, Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor.

The owner was very helpful on our arrival. She had put some milk in the fridge and left a traditional cream tea including fresh Strawberries. There was also croissants which we had for our first breakfast. The cottage itself is well placed for getting to all the popular attractions and resorts.
