Cottage Description
Dale House can be found in the middle of Alston that is situated in the North Pennines. It has two bedrooms and can sleep up to four people. This terraced cottage is not far from the town centre and is close enough to the Pennines that guests can use it as a base to explore and experience the true beauty of this area. The cottage is based over three floors. It has a king size bedroom and one twin bedroom. There is a fitted kitchen, dining area, sitting room and a very cosy ambience to make guests feel at home in a warm and snug environment. Amenities/Accommodation Overview This property enjoys full gas central heating with extra heating from an electric fire in the living room and a multi-fuel stove in the snug. The kitchen has an electric oven, hob, fridge and a washing machine. The living area comes with a TV, DVD player, radio and CD player. Fuel, power, bed linen, towels, cot and a high chair are all supplied. Fuel for the multi-fuel stove can be purchased locally. Off road parking is available for one car with extra roadside parking available. The garden comes with outdoor furniture and a barbecue. Unfortunately, no smoking or pets are allowed. The closest pubs and shops are just 3 miles away. The lower area of the garden is accessed by steep steps with handrails. Local Town Description Alston is a town in the North Pennines and is considered to be England's highest positioned market town. It is surrounded by hills, waterfalls, moorland and rivers to place it within some glorious scenery. The region is believed to be the inspiration for such poets and writers as W H Auden and with the atmosphere the area holds, it is easy to see why. The area has some pleasant shops and craft galleries. The South Tyne Valley also has some stunning views and scenery which makes it ideal for walking and cycling. The Nenthead Mines Heritage Centre is also a fascinating day out that gives an insight into how the North Pennines became one of the wealthiest mining sites in Europe.

The conservatory was definitely a bonus as it seemed to get the sun at all times. The dining room with the wood burning fire was lovely too. The bedrooms were very comfortable with plenty of storage.
