Cottage Description

Situated in the Dorset village of Winterborne Whitechurch is this delightful cottage, which dates back two-hundred years. Formerly a dwelling for farm workers, the property has been superbly renovated and can accommodate up to six people.

Damson Cottage has three spacious bedrooms, which consist of a double bedroom with en-suite facilities and two separate twin bedrooms. There is also a spacious fitted kitchen, which has a dining area and there is a well-presented sitting room.

Amenities/Accommodation Overview

Guests will be able to enjoy the gas central heating on the first floor with storage heaters on ground floor and a gas fire in the sitting room. The kitchen has an electric range cooker with four-ring hob, griddle, warmer and two ovens, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine. The property also boasts an LCD colour TV with Freesat, DVD player, CD/radio and a library of books, DVDs and games. All the fuel and power is included in the rental price. Bed linen and towels are provided for guests and a cot, highchair and stair gate can be made available on request.

Outside, there is off road parking for three cars and an enclosed garden with a lawn, patio area, outdoor furniture and a covered pond. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome for an additional weekly charge. This property has a no smoking policy. There is a pub within a five-minute walk of the cottage and shops just three-miles away.

Local Town Description

Winterborne Whitechurch gets its name from its seasonal stream, whose origins are high on the chalk downs, which provide opportunities for stunning walks with superb views. The picturesque village has a pub that offers cask ales and the surrounding area has much to offer guests, including the Benedictine Abbey and thatched cottages at Milton Abbas. The nearby charming market town of Dorchester was once home to the novelist Thomas Hardy and his Bockhampton birthplace is open to the public. Visitors can look for fossils along the sandy beaches of the stunning Jurassic coast, or walk the breathtaking South West Coastal Path.
