Cottage Description

A lovely property that offers ground floor accommodation. The name gives the games away, and the old stables have been converted with imagination and taste. Attractive stone construction, it offers two bedrooms with sleeping accommodation for up to four people.

The retention of some tradition is a pleasing feature of the accommodation that offers a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. The bathroom provides a basin, WC, and a bath with shower over. There is attractive open plan day time accommodation laid out as kitchen, dining and sitting areas.

Small private courtyard for outdoor relaxation, with use of furniture. Outdoor play area for children (adult supervision please, and open farmland to the rear with paths to enjoy and explore.

Local Town Description

Located towards the south of the county, there is an historic connection with nearby Raby Castle, deemed to be one of the grandest in the country, while managing to retains its medieval heart despite alterations. It features a two hundred acre deer park plus a lovely walled garden.

Barnard Castle, just three miles distant, unsurprisingly has its own castle, as well as shops, antique centres, restaurants, tea rooms and pubs.

Other great attractions to fill your day tripping list are bound to include Shildon Railway Museum, High Force and the Bowes Museum. There is close touring proximity to the wonderful Yorkshire Dales National Park, allowing you to explore its exquisite towns and villages
