Cottage Description

Victoria Cottage is a terraced Victorian property that is based in the small town of Marske-by-the-Sea that is close to Saltburn by the North York Moors National Park. It has three bedrooms and can sleep four people.

This cottage offers traditional rural English living in the form of a mid terrace Victorian property that is set in the centre of the thriving town of Marske-by-the-Sea. It has been totally refurbished and decorated to ensure that it remains contemporary but has held onto its original features including a cast iron fireplace in the living room.

The property has one double bedroom and two single bedrooms. It has a galley-style fitted kitchen with a dining area and there is also a bathroom with a shower attachment, toilet and a wash basin. This is a fantastic place to stay for those that wish to explore the North York Moors National Park.

Amenities/Accommodation Overview

This property has full gas central heating. It has an electric oven, gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and washing machine. The living area has a TV with Freeview, DVD player and a radio. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are supplied.

Off road parking is available for two cars. There is a small enclosed yard and a shed for storing bikes. One well behaved dog is allowed for a price per week. Unfortunately, smoking is not allowed. The closest pub and shop are a 3 minute walk away.

Local Town Description

Marske-by-the-Sea is a coastal town that is packed with shops, restaurants and pubs and is only a short distance from the North York Moors National Park. It is the birthplace of the legendary historical icon, Captain Cook and there is also a mining museum and Zetland lifeboat museum.

Only 3 miles away is the historic spa town of Saltburn that has a lot of attractions including the Smugglers Heritage Centre and a pier that really makes it feel like a traditional seaside resort. The fishing villages of Runswick Bay and Staithes also offer an insight into maritime life in this part of the country. The popular town of Whitby is also close by.

A most enjoyable week with good weather. All about Victoria Cottage and Marske was fine. Useful base for Tees Estuary, bird watching and for photographs of a rare industrial and post industrial landscape. All services within very easy walking distance. Would visit again.
