Cottage Description

In an impressive position with unrivalled views across the River Tay to the Sidlaw Hills, this original 18th century ice barn is on the spot of a former fishing station and, as its name gives on, the ice barn was where the ice was stored for the fishing fleet. The property has an individual and unique charm with a lot of very exciting original features remaining intact. For example, the ground floor has thick exposed stone walls and a divine kitchen with a barrelled ceiling and stone flagged floor. The large lounge boasts a beamed ceiling and log burning stove with arched patio doors and lovely windows to make the most of the outstanding views. The ice barn is set a bit further back from Fife 151 a and has level exterior access to the upper level and ground floor. The two levels are linked by a spiral staircase, which might prove unsuitable for the elderly or extremely young children.

The property is made up of two double bedrooms, each with en suite bathroom, one twin bedroom, one small single study bedroom, a bathroom with a bath and a separate shower. A cot is available if you require it. On the lower level there is a gorgeous lounge with two steps leading up to the spacious stylish kitchen with dining table. Cooking is powered by gas and an electric oven plus there is also oil-fired central heating. You will also have access to the fridge/freezer, automatic washing machine, dishwasher, television, Wi-Fi and a telephone for incoming calls so you can keep in touch with humanity whilst remaining far away from it all. Bed linen and towels are also supplied.
