Day trip enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice with Bodiam Castle, Battle Abbey. Bewl Bridge Reservoir, Ashburnham Place, Batemans House which was Rudyard Kipling home, Pevensey Castle, and Herstmonceux Castle. The coast and cliff top walks at Beachy Head all of these places are with in twenty minutes.

Rye Harbour Nature Reserve is a bird watchers paradise, approx 40 minutes away.A little further a field is Sissinghurst Gardens and Castle, the magnificent Camber Sands which is ideal for children,
