Cottage Description
Islay Cottage is a well proportioned former farm worker's cottage occupying a fine position in the small village of Langtoft set amongst the Yorkshire Wolds. Beamed ceilings create the necessary atmosphere, and the fine patio allows summer al fresco dining. Two bedrooms offer a double and a second bedroom with bunks (two children or one adult), with the spacious sitting room having an open fire. Nearby Driffield is an attractive market town set on the Driffield Navigation, close to the source of the River Hull. It is home to the largest one day annual agricultural show as well as a Steam and Vintage Rally. It has historic connections having been mentioned in the Domesday Book. Comfort and character are the keynotes of Islay Cottage. Oil central heating means that you don't have to rely on warm weather to spend a relaxing break here. Barbecue, outdoor furniture and small rear enclosed patio. Regret no pets and no smoking. Pub one minute walk, shop five miles. Local Town Description The Yorkshire Wolds scenery is unsurpassed, and Langtoft is set delightfully in its midst. Lovely church, traditional pub and modern and traditional cottages. You are just a short drive to the majestic Victorian coastal resort of Scarborough, and the stately home fan club will love Sledmore House and Agnes Hall. There is further exploring to be carried out along the lovely coastline to places such as Bridlington and Filey, while the proximity of the rugged North York Moors National Park and the Minster city of York will keep your touring itinery full.

The cottage had a very homely feeling and was very comfortable to stay in. Very warm welcome from owners - telephone prior to stay, milk and wine very greatly received. I was very impressed in how well the cottage was furnished - especially the kitchen utensils - we were able to eat in every night!
