Osea is that island and the property is 3 The Chase, an attractive rendered property with a lovely red tiled roof. The accommodation on offer includes an open plan lounge/diner with an open fire, and a well planned kitchen area. The three bedrooms are laid out as two doubles and a single. One of the doubles is ground floor and has an en suite bathroom/WC with roll top bath. The main bathroom/WC is on the first floor with the other two bedrooms. (steep stairs) All properties are finished to superb standards. The causeway has a Roman history - don't worry if you get your timings wrong as there is a river taxi (extra charges). With four miles of coastline and 350 acres of fabulous countryside, the island is a great retreat away from the hustle and bustle, a view obviously shared by the abundant wildlife and rare birds. Two of the group of cottages are of listed status, with history traceable to the sixteenth century. Despite this modern facilities such as an outdoor heated swimming pool, games room, viewing room, gym, sauna and tennis court are available. If that wasn't enough, the owner can arrange a variety of activities as well as a chef to prepare meals for you (full details on request). Visits to the mainland are top of the lists for day tripping, with Maldon five miles away with its picturesque quay and pretty and charming shops. Southend is family orientated, while Colchester with its zoo, castle and history, and Mersea Island are must see destinations. Local pub and shop on the mainland three miles away. The property has easy walking access, electric panel central heating included . Regret no pets.
