Local Town Description The peculiarly named Lixwm is a town that many non-Welsh speakers will struggle to say but once you visit you will want to keep coming back. It is located on the edge of a Site of Special Scientific Interest on the Halkyn Mountain and is a Designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The region holds some amazing views of the Clwydian Hills and Offa's Dyke. Holywell is a town close by and considered to be the 'Lourdes of Wales'. It gains this name thanks in part to its chapel that has been a destination of pilgrimage since 660. The towns of Mold and Denbigh are also close by and the medieval city of Chester played an important part in the history of Wales and is worth a visit by any history buff.

The cottage was ideally situated and immaculate - tastefully furnished yet cosy at the same time. I could not praise the owners enough, they were very friendly and went out of their way to help you, yet did not intrude on your privacy. I will definitely go there again.
