This cottage is great for family and friends, with children as well with the toys and climbing frame for them to play on. The garden is stunning and so peaceful. Author: Miss B, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire - Date Submitted: 06/2011

Yes , Superb Cottage for Families or Friends. Lots of rooms and plenty of space. Beautiful large garden too and close to the New Forrest and the Excellent Coastline and beaches. Author: Mr S, Uttoxeter, Staffordshire - Date Submitted: 05/2011

The cottage at Butlers Wood was exceptional! The property, both inside and out was first class and to top it all the weather was perfect too.Would recommend it to anyone and were going to try and rebook for next year. Author: Mrs T, Llanelli, Dyfed - Date Submitted: 04/2011

Beautiful cottage in a lovely setting. Plenty to do in the area. Author: Mrs H, Oxted, Surrey - Date Submitted: 02/2011

We had a fantastic time at Butler's Wood Cottage, The setting was idyllic, the grounds were wonderful for the children to play, explore and drive those wonderful toy tractors. We had family and friends whom we had not seen for years come to visit us who also loved the cottage and the wonderful log fires we had burning during the evenings. During the day we visited Winchester Cathedral and popped into Marley Zoo, overall we had a wonderful time and we would recommend Butler's Wood Cottage perfect for an all round family holiday. The cottage was the best appointed that we have ever stayed in. We were worried about cooking Christmas dinner and brought some utensils, but everything we could possibly need was there. The cottage was even decorated with a Christmas tree and had log fires burning - we felt most welcome. It was a wonderful family Christmas. We thoroughly enjoyed our break in this lovely cottage, especially the roaring log fire on a cold November evening. The grounds were so picturesque in the frosty mornings and the inside of the cottage was superb. I've got to admit, having in my opinion the best double bedroom on the ground floor was excellent with its adjacent bathroom and dressing room. It was so spacious, well insulated with its ample radiators and lovely thick curtains and the beds/bedding were so comfortable. The kitchen too was great, especially when we decided to stay in a couple of evenings and have a hearty soup and cooked chicken with plenty of red wine, cheese and crackers on the lovely large table (we felt a little lost with the four of us) but managed to spread the feast over half of the table to make up for it. It felt like a dream come true, here's hoping the lottery favours me shortly so I can afford a place as wonderful as this.If you are prepared to drive a short distance to the heart of the new forest, which only takes around 20 - 30 minutes and like being a little bit off the beaten track, this is definitely somewhere I would recommend. Another wonderful weekend at lovely Butlers Wood-stunning in the snow. Author: Miss E, Cowes, Isle Of Wight - Date Submitted: 12/2010

Butlers Wood is an amazing house, it measures from end to end 35 metres, with a very large garden which has been made child friendly. The curtains in every room are really special, you would not expect such quality in a holiday let. We would definitely try to book this cottage again. Author: Mrs N, Sittingbourne, Kent - Date Submitted: 09/2010

This cottage looked great in the pictures for a holiday with family groups and several young children. The pictures just don't do it justice. We had enough space to spend time together but also get a bit of privacy. The playroom is very well equipped with all manor of toys (our children aged 3/4/5), and kept the children busy. The garden is large and has a great tree swing which we all had a go on!! The garden also has a great wooden swing/slide etc and also some ride ons - perfect. The area is really lovely and there is plenty of great walking in the New Forest. We really enjoyed a day at Isle of Wight - if you book in advance it is cheaper. Over all a brilliant holiday in a very homely and well equipped cottage. Many thanks. Author: Miss C, DISS, Norfolk - Date Submitted: 09/2010

The cottage was absolutely beautiful, it exceeded all our expections. The pictures on the website showed the cottage as it was, but didn't show the large wonderful garden. Inside the cottage there was everything you needed. Outside there was a lovely patio area with plenty of seating where we spent a lot of time eating, drinking and relaxing, listening to the sound of the birds and sheep. Although this was an adult only holiday we felt the large garden would also be ideal for children with a really good childrens slide/climbing frame/swing combination, mini football goal, sit-on diggers and lots of safe space to play in. Also croquet for the adults. I took LOADS of photos to show friends when I returned home as I couldn't believe how lucky we were to have stayed there. The caretaker and his daughter couldn't have been more helpful. A brilliant holiday cottage. Author: Mrs B, CHATHAM, Kent - Date Submitted: 05/2010

I had a tall order when booking this holiday, I wanted cosy but modern, old but clean, child friendly but luxurious for adults - this cottage ticked every box! The garden was perfect for two small boys, but the house was so filled with different knoocks and crannies that there was plenty of fun to be had inside too. The open fires were gorgeous and the kitchen was well equipped. All in all, it was a fantastic break in a very very pretty cottage. Author: Miss W, BORDON, Hampshire - Date Submitted: 03/2010

This is a stunning, cosy, idyllic cottage; comfortable, extremely well-equipped and ideally placed for all the many points of interest the area has to offer. It is bigger and even more beautiful than the catalogue photos suggest! Author: Mrs B, NORWICH, - Date Submitted: 01/2010

Well what an absolutely beautiful, thatched cottage. Myself and 3 friends stayed there for 3 nights and we had a really lovely time. The house was spotless and the bed linen smelt absolutely gorgeous, infact the whole house had a lovely comforting smell about it - it just felt really cosy and snug. A few pointers for other guests, take some dishwasher tablets with you and some hand soap as these were not provided - but a very minor point as we were within easy reach of local shops to go and buy some. The kitchen and all the cooking equipment was great for our nights in serving up culinary delights, the log fire was heaven and the garden was absolutely huge and very well maintained. It was lovely to wake up in the morning and have the view of the garden with the woodland trees in clear view. We took the opportunity to have a horse riding lesson nearby which was great fun, and we went to Salisbury Cathedral on another day which was definitely worth a visit. Very close to the new forest but a ten fifteen minute drive from the nearest town for grocery shopping. Makes it ideal for a quiet relaxing holiday away from it all. Author: Mrs K, Bordon, Hampshire - Date Submitted: 11/2009
