The Abbey itself has a history allied to the Cistercian Monks with a suggested founding date of about 1147. Restoration took place in its present form in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. About fifteen miles away you come across Hay on Wye, famous for its many book shops and over recent years for its increasingly prestigious literary festival. Hereford is home to the wonderful cathedral housing the Mappa Mundi, while the Wye Valley is well regarded as one of the most beautiful areas in Britain, particularly in the autumn as the leaves fall.

Customer Rating/Reviews
The property is outstanding, ample space for 13 of us. Lovingly restored to a high standard, situated in a quiet location. It was well equipped, even the first load of fire wood was supplied, and a lovely hamper was there for our arrival which included milk, tea, coffee & cake which was very welcoming after a long trip.
