Based in Kington near Hay-on-Wye, this semi-detached cottage offers cosy holiday accommodation in a very scenic part of Britain on the English and Welsh border, offering contemporary living in a renowned part of the country.

This semi-detached cottage offers cosy yet light living in accommodation that has one double bedroom and one twin bedroom. It can be found on the brink of the beautiful town of Kington that runs along a river and is only 12 miles from Hay-on-Wye.

The amenities of Kington are only a short 10 minute walk away and the property itself has undergone some lovely decorating and furnishing work to keep it contemporary. It has a bread oven, exposed beams and wood burning stove to make sure that its traditional authenticity is not forgotten.

There is also a conservatory that is very spacious and is the perfect place to sit down to relax or read a book. The garden also offers a great retreat for guests to unwind and enjoy some al fresco dining when the weather is lovely.

Amenities/Accommodation Overview

This property has oil central heating with extra heating from the wood burner in the living room. The kitchen comes with an electric cooker with a double oven, microwave, electric hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a washing machine. The TV comes with basic satellite and a DVD player in the living area. Fuel, power, bed linen, towels and a starter pack for the wood burner are all supplied. A stair gate is available upon request.

Off road parking is available for up to two cars. The spacious garden area has terraced lawns that are accessed by 14 steps and there is a ground level seating area that is gravelled. Unfortunately, no smoking is allowed and pets are not permitted within the property. The closest pub is an 8 minute walk and the nearest shop is a 10 minute walk.

Local Town Description

Kington is known as the "centre for walking" and its position on the Welsh border in the Marches allows it to be in amongst some delightful scenery and countryside. Offa's Dyke Path, Eastnor Castle and Hergest Croft Gardens are just some of the tourist attractions close by.

Hergest Ridge is believed to be the inspiration for some of the finest works by Elgar and Mike Oldfield whilst the fabulous Hay-on-Wye with the annual Hay Festival and its collection of book shops is a fantastic day out. The ancient city of Hereford also has plenty to offer including a stunning Norman cathedral and the famous Mappa Mundi which is a 13th century interpretation of the world by a cartographer.
