Cottage Description
A stone built former farm worker's cottage having an attractive white painted exterior. It is located on what is still a working livestock farm occupying a peaceful rural position. Under two miles from the village of Glenfarg, the traditional style accommodation is to be found on the ground floor. It comprises twin and double bedrooms, as well as a single with bed access on one side only. The bathroom has WC, basin and a bath, and there is a sitting room with open fire and a dining area and a kitchen. Interestingly there is a bird hide in the lawned garden, allowing you to see the local red squirrels and birds. There is also a barbecue and outdoor furniture. Amenities/Accommodation Overview Inclusive of open fire fuel, plus pillows, blankets and bedspreads provided (not duvets). Please bring your own bed linen. Please use honesty box for electricity by using the meter readings plus simple calculations. Full electric heating, spin dryer, freezer, fridge, microwave, and electric cooker. Books, games and videos, radio/CD player, TV, video/DVD. High chair and cot availability, three car off road parking, regret no smoking and no pets. One and a half miles to pub and shop. Note: There is a private water supply at this cottage. Note: The cottage is accessed via a quarter of a mile long track. Local Town Description There is great fishing, horse riding, cycling and walking to be found locally when you stay at this traditional property offering comfortable accommodation. There is a local nature reserve with geese, swans, migratory and breeding ducks. Glenfarg itself has a lovely location at the southern tip of a narrow, pretty glen, with a mild climate resulting from the sheltered position. Day trip locally to Loch Leven and Kinross. Loch Leven Castle was a scene of imprisonment for Mary Queen of Scots in 1567. It is now open between April and September, and was the scene of her dramatic escape by boat.
