Cottage Description

Possessing two bedrooms that can sleep up to four people, Oakfield is a first floor apartment that is ideal for family and friends. It is based in Croy near Nairn in the Cairngorms National Park.

This first floor private apartment is located within the grounds of the owner's own home and is based in the village of Croy that is close to Nairn in North Scotland.

The property itself has two double bedrooms and a shower room. The living area is open plan and has a fitted kitchen. There is also a dining area and a cosy sitting area that opens out to a decking area where guests can soak up the surrounding environment.

This property has full gas central heating throughout. There is an electric oven, gas hob, fridge, microwave and washing machine. The living area has a TV with satellite package, DVD player, radio and a CD player. There is also a selection of books and games available for guests to use. Fuel, power, bed linen, towels, cot, high chair and a stair gate are all included.

Off road parking is available for up to two cars. There is a decking area with outdoor furniture and a lawn garden that is shared that also possesses garden furniture. Unfortunately, no smoking or pets are allowed. The closest shop is just a 2 minute walk away and the nearest pub is just 4 miles away.

Local Town Description

Nairn is a popular seaside town that can be traced back to Victorian times and is only 16 miles from the town of Inverness in Scotland. It claims to be one of the sunniest and driest places in the country and is also close to some of the finest beaches in Scotland.

Offshore, guests can also spot the dolphin colonies (the only two in the UK) and the waters in the area are so clean. The area is famous for the Battle of Culloden and Fort George close by is Europe's best preserved military fortification from the 18th century. Nairn Golf Club, host of the 1999 Walker Cup is also near by.

I loved the location, it was exactly what we were looking for, very quiet and peaceful with only minutes to Inverness. Very close to the Culloden Battlefield and Clava Cairns and short drive to Fort George. Our hosts were very friendly and hospitable providing us with a welcome basket of goodies.
