Holiday Cottage - The Old Stables

Cottage Description

The Old Stables

Converted four years ago, the owners, Nick and Ginny Morris have continued to maintain the highest of standards in the Old Stables. A one storey building, it looks out onto the old farm green and has glorious rural views over the open fields at the rear of the property. Charcott Farm is no longer a working farm but is now a peaceful secluded homestead consisting of the farmhouse and 3 other converted properties. The Stables sleeps up to 5 people with 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms. The main living area, full of original old oak beams, is carpeted and open-plan with a kitchen at one end divided from the sitting area by a large dining room table with seating for 6. The brightly tiled kitchen is equipped with electric cooker, microwave, toaster, dishwasher and washer/dryer plus an excellent range of china, utensils and non-stick cookware. The sitting room area has a wide- screen colour TV plus video and hifi, comfortable sofa and chairs and telephone. The 3 bedrooms, one double, one twin and a small single are simply and attractively furnished with pretty traditional fabrics. Gas central heating is thermostatically controlled and is included in the price along with electricity and linen. Outside there is parking for 2 cars beside a small brick patio with views across the open fields. Many of Kent's finest attractions are easily visited from the Old Stables. Penshurst Place, Hever Castle, Chiddingstone and Chartwell are all minutes away whilest Knole Park, Ightham Mote, Squerryes Court, Groombridge Place, Sissinghurst and Leeds Castle are all within easy reach. Brasted with it's wealth of antique shops and picturesque Westerham are also not to be missed along with the famous spa town of Tunbridge Wells. For London, trains run locally from Penshurst Station to London Bridge (1 hour)or from nearby Sevenoaks direct to Charing Cross (40 minutes). Gatwick Airport is 45 minutes away and both Folkstone and Dover around an hour. Nick and Ginny run a busy bed and breakfast from the farmhouse and are always available to answer questions and help with any problems. You will soon get to know Polly the dog and the 3 cats and will hopefully find your time spent in this very special part of the Garden of England not only relaxing but also rewarding and enjoyable.
