Cottage Description

Sitting on an elevated outcrop, which overlooks the Lakeland town of Arnside and the Lake District Fells, is this delightful semi-detached cottage. This property can accommodate five people and is just a ten-minute walk from the local amenities and a nearby pier.

31 Plantation Avenue is full of character, which includes African mahogany floors and hand created fixtures and fittings throughout. There is a wood burning stove in the living space and a cast iron bath in the bathroom. There is also a king-size double bedroom and a room with a double bed and single bed.

Amenities/Accommodation Overview

The property enjoys full gas central heating with extra heat provided from the wood burning stove in the living room. In the kitchen, there is a gas range cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The property also has a colour TV, DVD player, stereo/CD player and radio. All the fuel, power and a starter pack of wood for the wood burning stove is included in the rental price. There is bed linen and towels provided.

Outside, off road parking on a driveway is available for two cars. There is also a front garden area, rear garden with outdoor furniture and a BBQ. One well-behaved pet is welcome. No smoking is allowed. There are shops and pubs within a ten-minute walk from the property.

Local Town Description

Located on the southernmost tip of the Lake District is the village of Arnside, which sits within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is an ancient fishing port in the stunning pier and port area of the village, with views across the Kent Estuary and there is a fifteenth century settlement named Peel Towers to the south of the village. The area is popular for walking, cycling, hiking and just one-mile away is the RSPB Nature Reserve at Leighton Moss. Within easy reach of the property, there is the stunning scenery of the Lake District National Park, Forest of Bowland, Lune Valley and the Yorkshire Dales.

The area was excellent for touring and we enjoyed the peace and quiet even though we were in a village setting. We even had deer in the back garden a couple of nights!
