Great for exploring medieval Lincoln and the Wolds. Walkers and cyclists will enjoy the Water Rail Way, the Viking Way and the ancient Lime Woods. Enjoy the the golf course, summer lido and Kinema in the Woods at Woodhall Spa. Eight miles distant you will find Horncastle with its vintage shops, and thirty miles to the east coast will allow you the chance to do some winter seal spotting. Doddington Hall is popular and Bardney just under three miles away has pubs, restaurants and takeaways. Local fishing, pub five hundred yards.

We stayed over the New Year and had a fantastic quiet relaxing stay in this charming cottage, it was very welcoming as was our host Ann and the wood burner completed the wonderful ambiance. We visited several market towns each having its own individual charm and had some great walks around the local area, we will definitely be back and would recommend Maple Tree cottage to our anyone looking for a totally relaxing chilled out stay in Lincolnshire. We stayed at the cosy maple tree cottage over xmas 2011. The owner decorated the cottage for us, which was wonderful. When we walked into the cottage, we immediately felt at home. The cottage was cosy, clean and completed to high standard. The cottage was within walking distance to a very friendly pub and there was great walks in the area. A C0-op shop was about 10 min drive away and central Lincoln was only 25-30 min drive away.
