Cottage Description

This is a contemporary bungalow that sleeps four people in two bedrooms.

Located in nearly 2 acres of land, this property has a large living room with a wood burning stove and a modern fitted kitchen. There is one double bedroom and one twin bedroom. The lodge is heated with oil-filled radiators and an electric fan in the bathroom. Blackthorne Lodge is suitable for wheelchair users as it has accessible doors, sockets and switches, and a wet-room with a shower at ground-level. Outside there is a patio with garden furniture, a brick-built BBQ and sun loungers. There is also a fruit orchard and a flock of chicken - where you can buy your free range eggs! There is also storage for outdoor equipment such as bikes in the shed. For the children there is a selection of outdoor play equipment which includes a slide and a double swing.

Location

The lodge is situated close to Llandegfedd reservoir which is a short walk away. Greenmeadow, Woodlake Park and Alice Springs golf courses are nearby. Monmouth, Cardiff, Abergavenny and Brecon Beacons are just 30 minutes away by car.

A short distance is Usk which has small shops, pubs, restaurants and coffee shops. There are many things to do and see in the area such as a boating lake, the Caerleon Roman Ampitheatre and Blaenavon World Heritage Site.

Within a twenty minute drive from Blackthorne Lodge there are the following activities: cycling, walking, cinema, bowling, horse riding, golf, hiking, ice skating, fishing, surfing and wind surfing.

Amenities

All power and fuel, woods for the burner, towels and bed linen are included in the rental price. There is a pub within one mile. The kitchen is equipped with a cooker, microwave, fridge, washing machine, toaster and a freezer. The property provides an iron and ironing board, a weekly maid service, a TV, CD and DVD player, games and books. In the garden there is a children's play area, garden furniture, tennis racquets, beach towels and a barbeque. There is off road parking available at the property. Sorry no smoking permitted.
