Caskieben Cottage No. 2 Coastal Cottage

Cottage Description

Caskieben Cottage No. 2 Coastal Cottage

Caskieben is a lovely semi-detached house to be found in the grounds of the home belonging to the owner. Of traditional style and design, it is decorated in bright, neutral colours which accentuate the well proportioned room sizes. There are three excellent bedrooms, with en suite facilities to the master, and a well presented open plan living space and modern kitchen.

Nairn, just two miles away, is an old market town and fishing port that benefits from a pleasant climate. It became popular with Victorians as a coastal resorts, this popularity being helped by the opening of the railway line in 1855, which encouraged houses and hotels to be built.

The property offers an excellent patio and garden, ideal if you just feel like staying in and relaxing. It is also well placed to undertake some quality touring and day tripping, with the best of coast and country within pleasant travelling distance.

Amenities/Accommodation Overview

There are three bedrooms, the master being a king sized double, with en suite shower with cubicle, WC and basin. The other two bedrooms are offered as a double and a twin. The family bathroom has WC, basin, bath with shower over.

Local Town Description

Nairn is pleased to be able to say that it is one of the driest, sunniest places in Scotland, probably one of the reasons for its popularity as a coastal resort. Excellent beaches, clean, clear coastal waters, meaning that the Moray Firth is home to one of only two dolphin colonies in the country.

Nearby Fort George has close links to the famous Battle of Culloden in 1746, and now claims to be one of Europe's best preserved eighteenth century fortifications.

Being Scotland, you won't be surprised to hear that golf has its own representation with two eighteen hole Championship courses. The Millenium town of Inverness is just sixteen miles away, while Aberdeen and the Cairngorms National Park should be on your day tripping agenda.

Wonderful cottage (our 4th visit to the property reflects our love of the place). Off the beaten track with amazing wildlife but close enough to town for all eateries, attractions, beach etc. Great welcome as usual with every amenity. Couldn't wish for a better property!
