Cottage Description

Eastburn Cottage is a 17th century semi detached farmhouse that rests in the tranquil village of Newbiggin in the centre of the Yorkshire Dales. It has four bedrooms with the potential to sleep seven people.

Only a few miles from Leyburn, this property is decorated in heritage and is a great base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and all that it holds. Its location is secluded yet close to some major urban areas that you don't feel isolated from society.

The property has been renovated to a very high standard and consists of two double bedrooms with en suite facilities, one twin bedroom and one single bedroom. There is a family bathroom. The kitchen comes with an oil-fired Rayburn stove, dining area and there is also a living room on the ground floor.

Amenities/Accommodation Overview

This property has electric storage heaters throughout with extra heating from a wood burning stove in the living room. There is an electric cooker, oil-fired Rayburn stove, fridge, freezer, microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher in the kitchen. The living area has a TV, DVD player and CD player. There is a phone with an honesty box. Guests can also make use of the selection of DVDs and books available. Fuel, power and bed linen are supplied. Towels are available to hire. A cot and high chair along with a babysitting service can be arranged at prior notice.

Off road parking is available for up to two cars with plenty of roadside parking also available. There is storage space for bikes. The garden is large and enclosed with a patio, outdoor furniture and a barbecue. Unfortunately, pets and smoking are not allowed. The closest pub is just a 6 minute walk away and the nearest shop is 7 miles away.

Local Town Description

Newbiggin is a village that is based near the valley floor in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Quite ironically, Newbigging means 'New Buildings' but the village holds some of the most amazing 17th century architecture in the Dales.

Located in the centre of Wensleydale, this village is a walker's paradise with some spectacular countryside and rural landscape to discover. Cauldron Falls are a must see for any outdoors enthusiast and there are also a range of pubs that sell local ales. The market towns of Leyburn and Hawes are also close by.
