Cottage Description

Located in the small village of Houlsyke near to Danby in the North York Moors National Park, is this Grade II listed stone and pan tiled terraced cottage. Converted from a former barn, this property can accommodate up to four people.

Stable Cottage has a double bedroom and a bedroom with children's bunk beds. There is also a family bathroom, sitting room with a dining table and an electric fire and a small fitted kitchen.

Amenities/Accommodation Overview

This property benefits from having heating from oil-filled radiators with extra heating from the electric fire in the sitting room. In the kitchen, there is an electric oven and hob, combi-microwave, grill and a fridge. Stable Cottage also boasts a colour TV with Freeview, DVD player and a radio. All of the fuel and power is included in the rent and guests are provided with bed linen and towels. A cot, highchair and a stair gate can also be made available on request.

Outside there is off road parking for two cars and an enclosed terraced garden, which is accessed via eight steps, with a patio, outdoor furniture and BBQ. No pets are allowed. There are shops and a pub just two miles away.

Local Town Description

The nearby village of Danby has two pubs, a bakery, tearooms and sits within the beautiful Esk Valley at the heart of The North York Moors National Park. There is a National Park Visitor Centre at Danby Lodge, which is an historic building set in thirteen acres of riverside pastures and nature trails. Danby is also home to the ruins of a fourteenth century castle and the only remaining working water mill on the River Esk. The magnificent Esk Valley Railway line runs through the village, with regular services to the seaside town of Whitby. The villages of Hutton-le-hole and Lastingham are nearby, as is the market town of Pickering. The ancient city of York is within easy reach and the Yorkshire Coast is easily accessible.
